Lifeguard Training Classes 2022

Prerequisite Swim is required to join this class

You will be able to practice for the prerequisite swim at our pool, please contact us to arrange a time.


Candidates must:

  1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
  2. Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  3. Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
  4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed.
  • Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
  • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.
  • Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Thursday, March 10; 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

Friday, March 11; 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

Saturday, March 12; 9:00 am-9:00 pm

Sunday, March 13; 9:00 am-5:30 pm

Class 2

Thursday, April 28; 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

Friday, April 29; 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

Saturday, April 30; 9:00 am-9:00 pm

Sunday, May 1; 9:00 am-5:30 pm

To successfully complete the course, you must attend the entire course, participate in all skill sessions/drills, activities and scenarios, demonstrate competency in all required skills and scenarios, and pass the final written exams with a minimum grade of 80 percent.

(Training includes manual and CPR mask.)

Cost: $250.00

*The instructors have put in place preventative measures and protocols to reduce the potential of spreading COVID-19,    however the inherent person to person contact that exists during training sessions could still increase your                      risk of exposure and/or contracting the virus.
