Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Information
Technology Support Services provides a "Bring Your Own Device" service for IRSD staff and students. Please note the instructions below are the extent of support we offer the end-user at this time. Technology Support Services reserves the right to revoke access at any time on devices that are deemed security risks or for users that do not comply with acceptable use policies. Outside contractors and visitors can obtain the passcode for the "IRSD-GUEST" network from building administration and should not attempt to use the other available WIFI networks. Please do NOT use "IRSD-WLAN" for personal devices.
To Connect to IRSD-BYOD-Webauth (Preferred)
- Use your device to connect to the "IRSD-BYOD-Webauth" wifi network.
- You will be prompted to "Sign in" on a web browser page. This is device specific, If you do not receive a message, open up an internet browser and it should appear.
- Use your school sign-in credentials to log in (Example: john.doe / thisIsMyPassword). You do NOT need the "@irsd.k12.de.us" suffix.
To Connect to IRSD-BYOD (Alternate)
- The connection to IRSD-BYOD is device specific and settings may vary. To login, you will still use your school sign in credentials (Example: john.doe / thisIsMyPassword). You do NOT need the "@irsd.k12.de.us" suffix.
- For Android and Chromebooks you may need to set the following settings:
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA Certificate: Do not validate
Identity: Your username (Example: john.doe)
Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
Password: Your school password - For Apple Devices you may need the following settings:
Username: Your username (Example: john.doe)
Password: Your school password
You may then be prompted to "Trust" a certificate
Indian River School District Staff Bring-Your-Own-Device Policy
Staff will be allowed to connect to IRSD's bring-your-own-device network with personal devices for instructional purposes. As a condition of this permission, the staff member must assume all risk of loss, damage, and or theft of the device while on district property. The IRSD Technology Support Services Department will make all reasonable efforts to make this network available but offers no support of these services beyond instructions located at https://www.irsd.net/byod/. Technology Support Services reserves the right to revoke access at any time from the bring-your-own-device network. Wherever possible, IRSD-owned devices should be used for instructional purposes as they will have priority access on the network.
