Military Appreciation Game at IRHS

Support Friday Night Football’s Military Appreciation Game Benefiting the Home of the Brave Foundation

Indian River High School’s Military Appreciation Game focuses on the service and sacrifice of military members and their families in our community. We want to thank them for their service and sacrifice to our country. This is all made possible through much hard work and dedication. Two IRHS football players completed a service project to help make this game a success. They wanted to recognize the sacrifice of our military veterans as both students have personally witnessed the sacrifice that their parents have made in service to our country. With this in mind, they felt it was only appropriate to pay it forward and bring awareness to our community. With the help of the Delaware Army National Guard, the goal was to bring awareness while making this game a success in partnership building. Additionally, they wanted a local Veteran’s support charity, The Home of the Brave Foundation, to benefit from the generosity of our fans. The stunning Black and Gold uniforms that the IRHS Indians will be wearing were graciously donated by the @delawarenationalguard. At kickoff time and throughout the night, announcements will be made honoring the service of members of both the players and the coaches who have served. This all-volunteer, student effort has been planned and coordinated by IRHS football players, junior Weston Werner (#9) and sophomore Brennan Loose (#5). A number of fundraising activities will be happening throughout the game. We encourage fans to help us support the team in its goal to generously support The Home of the Brave Foundation

Ways you can show support:

• Toiletries: Volunteers will be collecting donated toiletries (shampoo, soap, body wash, toothbrushes and toothpaste, cotton swabs, deodorant…) for veterans in need. Fans are asked to contribute an item or two (maybe even a bag or box!) to show you care.
• 50/50 Raffle: Proceeds benefit Home of The Brave 
• Donations of all sizes: Volunteers will gladly accept gifts (cash or check made payable to Home Of The Brave). 
• Additional Items to donate: paper towels, toilet paper (Scott brand only) cleaning products, packaged utensils, brand new bed linens (packaged), brand new blankets (packaged), gift cards (Wawa, RoFo, McDonalds, etc..), and DART bus passes
