Student Registration and School Enrollment

Going to Kindergarten is a big step for children and for you as a parent or caregiver. 

In general, students must be five years of age by August 31 of the current school year to attend kindergarten in the state of Delaware.

To register your child for kindergarten, please follow the steps below. Kindergarten Registration is now open and we encourage you to register.

If your child is currently enrolled in an in-district pre-k program, you are not required to register for kindergarten!

Steps to Kindergarten Registration                                                                                       

Please follow these steps to register your child for kindergarten:

 Step 1 – Locate Your School

Use the online School feeder Search to locate your local elementary school. You can also contact district office at 302-436-1000. ***Please note if you wish to request attendance at another home school you must follow and complete the School Choice Application process.

 Step 2 – Complete the Student Registration Forms

 Step 3 –Gather Required Documentation.

Please provide the registration forms and all required documents to your local elementary school. Appointments are encouraged!
