The Summer Food Service Program is a USDA program that provides healthy meals and snacks to eligible children when school is not in session. Meals may be available free of charge for children 18 years of age or younger. For information on open sites in their area, families are encouraged to call 211; call 1-866-3-HUNGRY; text the words “summer meals” to 97779; text the word “food” to 877-877 or log onto www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks. Spanish speakers may call 1-877-8-HAMBRE or text the word “comida” to 877-877.
